According to NBC News, supermodel Cindy Crawford has spoken out for the first time to mourn the passing of her son, Presley Gerber. Presley passed away on September 20 of this year at the age of 27. Nearly a month later, Crawford shared a post on Instagram on Sunday, revealing that her family remains deeply immersed in grief over the loss of their loved one.
In her post, Crawford wrote, “We are devastated by the loss of our beloved son and brother. We feel incredibly fortunate to have had Presley in our lives for 27 years. He possessed a kind and beautiful soul; he knew how to love and was deeply loved in return—now and forever. We are immensely proud of him for the kindness and sincerity with which he faced the world, and for his courage in showing his own vulnerability.”
Cindy Crawford and her husband, businessman Rande Gerber, have two children. Their daughter, 25-year-old Kaia Gerber, is a model and actress who has also gained prominence in the fashion industry.
According to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office, Presley died on September 20 while at a rehabilitation facility. The cause of death remains under investigation, and no further details have been released at this time.
In her post, Crawford also expressed gratitude for the care and support the family has received from others as they navigate the pain of losing their son. She wrote, “We are deeply grateful for the outpouring of love and support from so many. Whether from friends and family who know and love us, or from strangers who have reached out with such empathy—we are profoundly moved by everyone’s care.”
She concluded with a heartfelt farewell to her son: “Until we meet again, my dear child. We will love you forever. Mom, Dad, and Kaia.”

On the same day, Presley’s sister, Kaia, also took to Instagram to mourn her brother, expressing how deeply she cherished being his sister.
In a long, heartfelt letter to her brother, Kaia revealed that being Presley’s sister has always been the aspect of herself she is most proud of and cherishes the most. She wrote, “Being your sister has always been my favorite part of who I am—and it always will be. I came into this world holding onto you, and I never let go. I have so much love for you that I don’t even know where to put it. Now, with nowhere left for this love to go, I fear it might just consume me entirely.”
Kaia also shared a touching video from their childhood showing the two embracing and dancing together, along with several old photographs that captured precious memories from their lives.
In another passage, she wrote, “I love you, my dearest brother—to the moon and back, and back again, forever.”
Facing the reality of her brother’s passing, Kaia admitted that she is still learning how to navigate life without him. She wrote: “I am learning how to continue loving you when I can no longer see you—learning how to share things with you without reaching for my phone to call you. I am also learning how to continue being your little sister in a world where I can no longer reach out and touch you. I don’t know how to do that yet.”
Kaia also appeared to draw inspiration from a famous letter written by physicist Richard Feynman to his late wife, using it to express the pain of losing a loved one. She concluded: “My dear brother, I love you so much. I love my brother. My brother is gone. This party really sucks without you, Presley.”

According to a law enforcement source who spoke to NBC News, Presley had checked into “Resolutions Living,” a rehabilitation facility in Santa Monica, just hours before he was found unresponsive by authorities.
Police stated that they are currently investigating his death as a suspected drug overdose.
Presley had previously spoken openly about his struggles with depression and addiction. According to People magazine, he participated in a mental health panel discussion this past June—his final public appearance.
